In residential projects, a stretch ceiling creates a uniform luminous ceiling with no visible light source and makes it possible to light rooms with low ceiling heights. Maxime develops bespoke solutions for living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, walk-in closets, bathrooms, gourmet areas, balconies, home offices and entrance halls.

Frequently asked questions

Does a stretch ceiling work with low ceiling heights?

Yes, and that is one of the reasons it is used in apartments. Because the light comes from an entire surface rather than from points, a stretch ceiling lights the room well without the deep drop a ceiling with recessed spots would require.

Can it be installed in bathrooms and wet areas?

Yes. The membrane does not absorb moisture and is frequently used in bathrooms and gourmet areas. Material and structure are specified according to how exposed the space is.

How long does installation take?

Installation itself is usually quick, because the piece arrives ready and is mounted onto a profile already fixed in place. Total lead time depends on the size of the area and on ceiling preparation, and is confirmed in the quote.

Can it be installed in a finished apartment?

Yes. A stretch ceiling is one of the most practical solutions for refurbishment, because in most cases it avoids breaking the existing ceiling and the work is clean, with no plaster and no painting.
